We have just returned from a four day trading expedition. We traded with three different native tribes. The women in the tribes wore colorful dresses made of deer hide and the men wore skirt like shorts made of deer hide. They liked trading the purple metallic beads the best. At first they wanted to give us beans and corn, but we insisted that we get beaver fur. We returned home to our colony with two barrels of beaver fur.

Today I learned about native americans Wompanoag tribe. One thing I learned was that the native americans were scared of pilgrims because they thought they would steal their food or kidnap them. Another thing is that native americans need to work hard to have the stuff they need to survive, like food and water. The native americans and the pilgrims were scared of each other because they both thought the other would not be nice to them. So the pilgrims were scared the native americans because they thought they would take their food. The native americans thought the same thing. The native americans were mostly scared because the pilgrims were new to North America.
Today in my colony we built houses. We had to collect trees to get wood to build the houses. We also had to build our houses pretty perfect or they would collapse. my colony made two houses. If we had chopped the wood faster and assembled our houses faster we might have built five or six houses. The process included getting the trees, then chopping the trees, then assembling the house so it wont collapse, then coloring the door and chimney brown and the roof and window yellow. We really could have worked better.
Crossing the great ocean was an adventure. At first the weather was fair but then it changed and the seas became very violent. At one point we feared our lives when the ship leaked. Life on the ship was challenging because we had to cram a lot of people on one ship and there was no privacy on the ship. Finally we reached land, the voyage took 65 days. We were so relived when we got off the ship.
Today while visiting Germany, I learned that Germans call soccer, football. Did you know that zepplins are big blimps used in Germany to fly to the western hemisphere? Germany is amazing because it has castles on the Rhine river. I was so exited to see the castles! A cool thing I learned about the ruins is that the Romans built them. Brotworst is very popular here. In Germany, people call pretzel, brezel and kirshtorte is a food there. It is amazing! I couldn't believe Germany had kings until the end of World War 1. I'm looking forward to coming here again.
