We are celebrating the awsome harvest. We have 88 survivors 36 more than the Pilgrims. We have 24 acres of food and 3 houses. We are thankful that we have we have two barrels of beaver furs. We have a peace treaty with the Indians and freedom to choose religion. The best part is that we can raise our children with English traditions.

We have been busy with our spring planting. Each day we work 7 hours in the fields. We have panted corn, wheat, beans, and barley. The ground was rock hard. My back, knees, and neck are sore and my hands and feet are covered with blisters. We have 24 acres food and we want to plant 6 more. The only good thing is that 0 people died in the fields.
We have just returned after a long day of trading with the Indians. We traded with three tribes, the first tribe was easy we got 27 beaver furs. The 2nd tribe was rude the Indians in that tribe took our beads. The 3rd tribe was kind and gave us 21 beaver skins. The Indians wore animal skins and a single feather on the back of their heads. They liked the beads the best. At first the Indians wanted to give us nothing but we convinced them to trade. We returned home to the colony with 48 beaver skims.
We decided we must make friends with the local Indians. We did this by sharing land and singing a peace treaty. The Indians liked this and gave us corn to plant. Not one of us can speak the Indian language so Squanto helped us translate. We love the Indians and plan to keep peace for many years.
During our voyage across the Atlantic we ate cheese, hard tack, pickled beff, and pork. In the new world the Indians showed us other foods like Berries, corn, and pumpkin. We did not like these foods because they weren't served in Holland and England. The lack of food caused hunger, disease, and death. So far ten of our colonists died. The saddest death was Maddy Wood, she planted corn like no other.
Today we began building our small settlement. First we sent the strongest men to bring back the largest oak trees. They swung 20lb axes at the two story tall trees. Then all of us made structures for little homes and we made wood walls. Then we painted the walls a pretty dark green. Every house had a thatch roof and a window. All houses had a fireplace to cook meals and to stay toasty.

My colony in the new world did not have a governments. So my husband and I decided to lead and write a compact. All of our103 colonists signed the compact. After they all signed we went to shore and started to build a main building at spot that had been cleared by Indians. It had lots of fresh water streams, lumber, and animals for food.
Dear DiryCrossing the ocean was an adventure and stressful. My son keeps on asking "are we their yet? I can't see land. What is the new world like?" At first the weather fair but now its ruff. Last night the main beam cracked, and we all feared our lives! We eventually fixed the crack. Life on ship is hard! Its crammed and wet.
