Dear Aunt Martha, We have started a settlement, me mom and Henry even though he said he wanted to use a chain saw built and dad cut down the trees. We built six one roomed houses but it wasn't enough unfortunately we still have many people living on the bluejay and because of the bad weather we had to stop earlier than expected. We have sadly had 9 of our people die. love your nese Alice

Dear Aunt Martha, After 65 days at sea and sharing below the deck getting tossed side to side from the rough waters with 102 we arrived at the new world, but not every thing went smoothly half way to the new world on October 5th a bad storm came. The Mayflower had a big leak and the main beam cracked. we had to repair the ship with a large iron screw brought from Holland. And a passenger had gotten thrown over board but lucky rescued. Far North in Virginia the storm blew us off course so it took a little longer. It probably would easier to live in the great cabin like the captain and the chief officers and have more room to travel three thousand miles in with 102 other people. Bye sorry i have to go for dinner were having pork, peas and beans. Dear Aunt Martha
This is your niece Alice, mom and dad decided that we should go to the new world weeks ago because they wanted us to learn more of the english traditions. We are waiting on the dock along the ocean to load the boat their are going to be 102 people all together so it will be pretty cramped. Mom and dad agreed to move because in the new world they say we will have freedom but i don't know if i want to move even if we will have more freedom and learn more of the English traditions. Mom and dad say "in England we are being forced to worship god"But is it really true. Love, your niece Alice |
