Dear Martha, We have built a settlement in the New World and we built 6 new houses! Unfortunately nine people have died during the hard work of all the colonists. James was felling trees and me, Henry, and Alice built the trees. Although we still, have people living on the Bluejay, we have built the common house. We have to stop building the houses because the weather is so bad and people might get sick. While we were building, two colonists got lost in the woods and never found their way back. We tried looking for them but we turned back because we might get lost. Your sister, Bridget Cardwell

Dear Martha,
We left Holland to go to the New world because King Henry was making us worship god in a way that was not teaching Alice and Henry english traits. Me and James decided that it was worth leaving our home to go to the new world to teach them proper english traits. We are leaving today to go to a New world. Me and James are in Holland and we are having a hard time, so we decided to go to the New world and try to live there and see how it goes. We are packing up to get on the boat later this afternoon.
