We Have been busy with our spring planting. We are working 12 hours a day in the fields. We planted beans, corn, and barley. Before the seeds are planted we work the soil with fish as a fertilizer. It was hard work. My muscles were sore and ached from the working. My feet and hands had blisters and calluses on them. So far we have planted 21 acres of corn and want to plant 5 more. While we were working in the fields Squanto helped us tender the soil with fish and helped us plant corn. He also taught us everything about farming and what tools we should use.

Our first thanksgiving was coming up and we were all heathy. We had 83 survivors and had 25 acres of corn. We built 6 houses in total . We only got 1 barrel of of furs to pay our debt with but
WE have just returned from a ok trading expedition . We traded with three different indian tribes. The indians looked nice and gave us only 38 beaver fur's. The wore animal skins and the men and women braided there hair and the men wore a single feather on the back of there head. They liked the trinkets and beads the bast. It was nice . At first they wanted to give us animal skins, but we in sited that we get beaver furs to pay our sets. We returned home to our colony with 38 skins which is one bucket full of skins.
We decided to make peace with indian tribes. We planned on doing this by making a peace treaty with the native americans. The indians didn't like the gifts that we gave them and we got nothing in return. Not one of us could speak there language so we had to talk to them with Squanto a native tribe member who spoke english. We stayed with them for two days and we didn't get the treaty signed like we wanted to.
Dear Diary,
When we arrived in the new world we did not have a government. So instead of going onto the land we stayed aboard the ship. We had a election and we elected the parents to be the governors. We will be responsible for making important decisions for the colony. We all agreed to the speedwell contract. After we all signed the agreement we went ashore and set up sentries because we were veritable to the indians. During our voyage across the atlantic ocean we ate dry biscuits and oatmeal. In the New World the Indians showed us other foods such as corn, fish, and potatoes. We did not like these foods because we were not used to those things. The lack of food made us get ill and to start dying of hunger. The saddest death was when brandon king died because he was a close friend.
Today we began building our houses. First, we sent workers into the woods to cut trees. They came back with 2 trees for each house. Then we cut them into limber. We used these boards to form the structure of the walls of our houses. Our houses had thatch roofs, and each house had a fire place to cook our food and stay warm in the cold seasons. We were able to build 3 houses with 6 trees in total.
Dear Diary,
Crossing the great Ocean was a great adventure. The weather was sunny and the water was crisp and we had smooth sailing. Then we feared our lives were at risk. The mane beam broke. I was worried that the ship would split in two. After that, people were getting sick and a person died. We had a lack medican space and privacy. The Maiflower has 6 sails and 55 lines. We left on september 6 1620. The Maiflower was smelly and the food was gross and it was not a fun trip. People were getting sick ands dying and our beds were lumpy. I was getting sea sick not enjoying the ride. Then one day there was a terrible storm that made the main beam crack. I feared that we were going home. We stoped at Newfoundland to get nfresh water, food and supplys than after that we headed to the new world. We landed and I was over joyed.
