We have just returned from a 4 day trading expedition. We traded with three different native tribes. The natives appeared wearing deer hide and other animal accessories from animals. They liked trading the beads and trinkets the best. We returned home to our colony with 2 barrels of beaver fur.
Today we had to build houses. It was so tiring chopping all that wood, and altogether we made two house which is not a lot for 102 people. We lost 33 people this day, all died from illness. It was a tragic loss but we are almost able to fit in both houses but some of us are still living on the ship.
Our colony in the New World did not have a government. So we stayed on board our ship and made a plan for governing our colony. We elected Hazel Dudley [me] as our colony leader. I will be responsible for help taking care of the colony, and direct my colony. We all agree to help and to not turn on one another. After we signed the agreement we went ashore and set up sentries because we needed to protect our selves from the natives.
Crossing the great ocean was an adventure. At first the weather was great then it changed and the seas became rough and it had huge waves. At one point we feared our lives when the ship started to leak, and when the main beam started to break. the hole entire ship could have split into two. Life on the ship was horrifying because of the cold weather and when the ship started to fall apart. Finally we reached land. The voyage took us to cape cod. We built a colony when we got of the ship.
Hi my name is Hazel Dudley. I'am 15 years old. In my family there are 4 members. We have been living in holland for 11 years and my family is unhappy. My family is unhappy because we can not find any really good jobs. We wish we could live in England, but this is not possible because of our religion.
Today while visiting Greece I learned that there is a snail that is an edible snail called a Roman snail. Did you know that there is a traditional greek dish called dolamathakia (stuffed grape leaves)? Greece is such a beautiful Island and has beautiful pieces of art there, and I was so excited to see Mrs. Irene in Rhodes Island. Another cool thing I learned about Greece is that there national anthem is very different then are national anthem. The beach is very popular here. I got to swim in the water and the water was very cold. It is awesome here! I couldn't believe how awesome it is here.
