Dear Daniel, We have survived one year! We have more survivors than the Pilgrims! We have more acres of farmland than the Pilgrims, but they had more houses and barrels of beaver fur. We both had a peace treaty and religious freedom. January 3rd 1621
Dear Daniel, We are having some struggles in the new world. We have lost 35 pilgrims since last time I have written you a letter. People die almost everyday. We have more than half the Pilgrims are sick and it is to cold to work. We are still scared that the Native Americans might attack. Before the cold, we had a chance to build 9 houses. Now it is very difficult to find food and all the Pilgrims are starving. We have 4 acres of farmland but it is not useful in the cold. Overall the Pilgrims are having a really difficult time. Dear Daniel, We have settled on land and are doing well. Before we settled on land we wrote a Mayflower Compact because we were fighting about who should be the leader. The Compact said that the leader got to pick the jobs the Pilgrims have, but the rest of the decisions we all vote on. In the end I was voted to be the leader. None of us are sick but three Pilgrims died since I last wrote to you. The hunting and weather is good. Right now the men are building a common house. Our colony are doing very well! October 1st 1620
Dear Daniel, When I got on the Mayflower I was prepared for a peaceful journey. As we went on there were strong winds |
