Dear Megan Johnson, I made it! It has been a great year. We had 31 people survived and the pilgrims had 52. We had 21 acres of food and the pilgrims had 20. We had 2 houses and the pilgrims had 11. We had 0 barrels of otter fur and they had 2. We both had peace treaties and religious freedom. We couldn't have done it with out Squanto. We are truly sorry for those who had passed away. -Abigail March 10, 1621
Dear Megan Johnson, It is the new year! We have had many struggles over time. We lost 45 people. We have finished the common house and we built 2 houses. Our goal is to not get attacked and build more houses. At least 2 more. We are still having a hard time getting food though. Only 1 or 2 a week we get food. It is getting warmer but still cold. I have to say I do miss Holland but we will probably make it work. We have 30 colonist left. We will try are best to not let them die. We really hope winter is almost through. We will hopefully get through the rest of winter and be good in spring. December 7th, 1620
Dear Megan Johnson, We arrived in December 5th, 1620. We are not doing so well since we got here. We are cold, hungry, tired, and sick. We are working to build a common house to keep are stuff. After we spotted land we were arguing about who would be in charge of some things. We made a Mayflower compact so we would assign parts to people in are colony. It said "We will have no king or queen and we will assign a new leader each two years We made Alma Moore be a sub for the leader if something was going on, Thomas Moore the leader and protecter, John Moore be the person who assigns who is going into the army, and Abigail Moore be a nurse and assigns peoples jobs. We have lost seven people since my last letter I wrote. -Abigail Moore December 5th, 1620
Dear Megan Johnson, It took a long time to get to Cape Cod and a lot problems. We had some days with bad storms and we even got off course! I wore the same dress I left home with, for months. 1 person from the crew fell of the boat. I am lucky that wasn't me. We started out with 103 people and ended with 102. 1 lady gave birth to a son and named him Oceanans. He replaced the man who fell over board. What all we had to eat was otemeal, peas, pork, fish, cheese, and other such foods that wouldn't rot. -Abigail Moore |
EllaI am 9 years old and in December I will be ten. I am a new student to Westgate but I have made a ton of friends. I have a older half sister that is 19. My favorite subject in school is reading. ArchivesCategories |
